How long is it okay to leave your laptop on?

If i leave my laptop (acer TravelMate4060) on for days at a time will it harm it at all?

I am a computer tech and in my experience here's the deal: not all laptops are created equally. All laptops are suspectible to overheating under certain conditions, especially ones from Acer. If you keep your vents super clean, run the laptop on a hard surface, not porous, lay it on an EZ lap (fiberglass lift) or a platform with usb fans, you can run your laptop for as long as you want. However, doing so, your RAM memory will eventually be full and need to be refreshed to regain its speed. You can program your laptop to reboot automatically once a day for optimal performance.

Why can't i get online wirelessly with my laptop?

Wireless connections are fickle. One minute you have an excellent signal, the next it can disappear for a host of reasons, from temperature to interference from items that run at the same frequency. You likely have an IP confusion problem. Double-click on your wireless connection icon at the bottom right of your screen, ie. your system tray. Then click on the Support tab. Look at the IP address: if it doesn't start with the numbers 192.168.0.something then your wireless adapter is confused. (This private IP address group may be different in your region. You should consult your router's guide to verify this.) You need to push it back on the right road. Click on the Repair button and that will hopefully fix it. If not, go back to the General tab and disactivate your wireless connection for a minute, then re-activate it through the Control Panel, Network Connections: double click on the Wireless connection entry that should read 'Disactivated'. It will reactivate or re-enable itself quickly. Follow the same steps as above to verify that your IP address has changed to the 192.168.0.something. If it has you're wireless is working. If not, shut down your PC for a minute, then re-start and re-check your IP again. If the IP still has not corrected itself, then it can be a case that your laptop is not working correctly with the the security protocol of the modem-router, i.e. either WEP or WPA. Change the protocol and if that does not cure the problem, remove the security protocol altogether. However if you remove it, keep in mind that users in a 100 metre radius may use your Internet connection without your permission, suck up your bandwith and commit crimes. Make sure you have File sharing disabled in your laptop so no one can see your files. It wouldn't hurt to change your Workgroup name to something different either: right-click on My Computer, Properties, Computer Name, Change button, then change the name. You must reboot after that. I hope this helps you.
